The CNY Breastfeeding Connection is a regional organization of Lactation Consultants, Nurses, Dietitians, La Leche League Leaders, Doulas, Professional Educators, Doctors, and Midwives committed to:
Promoting breastfeeding in the community.
Enabling the family to make an informed choice about feeding methods.
Protecting the breastfeeding family through the sharingof accurate information.
Supporting the breastfeeding family with information and resources.
Providinginformation and resources to health care providers who help new families in our community.
The CNY Breastfeeding Connection holds business meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 1:00 pm at REACH CNY, and offers quarterly evening educational meetings at 7:00 pm. The Cayuga County Breastfeeding Connection meets on a monthly basis at various sites in Cayuga County. Current projects of the Cayuga County Breastfeeding Connection include:
Developing a county-specific Breastfeeding Resouce Guide and Palm Card for families in Cayuga County
Providing medical providers with up-to-date evidence-based information about breastfeeding and maternal and child health
Recruiting Breastfeeding Friendly businesses in Cayuga County
