Sub-CouncilsCounty-Based Comprehensive Prenatal Perinatal Services NetworkREACH CNY hosts a Sub-Council meeting in each of the counties of Cayuga, Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego which consist of groups of health and social service providers and consumers. Each Sub Council meets 3-4 times per year a site in the respective county to work toward:
Meetings often include presentations addressing specific priorities including: access to care, quality of care, program development, best practices, prematurity, behavioral concerns including mental health, HIV, domestic violence, adolescent births and pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, and other topics to help providers improve and coordinate services to meet the community’s needs. History: The CPPSN program was started in 1990 as the perinatal network program of the City of Syracuse Women’s Commission. In 1996, it incorporated as an independent not-for-profit organization called Family Ties Network, Inc. In 2004, Family Ties Network and CNYCAP (the Central New York Council on Adolescent Pregnancy, Inc.) merged. In 2007, we took the new name of REACH CNY (Resources, Education, Advocacy, Collaboration for Health in Central New York) to represent our newly merged organization.
Who We Are: REACH CNY is one of the 18 New York State Perinatal Networks originally developed with funding from the New York State Department of Health. These Networks strive to make positive change in health outcomes for women, infants and families.
