Grant Helps REACH CNY Provide 42 Safe Sleep Spaces for Local Families

Funding from the Central New York Community Foundation will provide cribs, sleep sacks, and essential items to families across Central New York

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (March 20, 2026) REACH CNY has received a $4,200 grant from the Central New York Community Foundation to support safe sleep for infants and young children in our community. The funding will allow REACH CNY to purchase 42 cribs along with essential safe sleep items including sleep sacks and crib sheets, which will be distributed to families in need across Central New York.

Access to safe sleep environments is a critical component of infant health and safety. Through this funding, REACH CNY will be able to provide families with the resources they need to ensure their babies have a safe place to sleep.

“Every child deserves a safe place to sleep,” said Kathy Harter, Executive Director of REACH CNY. “This generous support from the Central New York Community Foundation helps ensure that families facing financial hardship still have access to the basic essentials needed to keep their babies safe.”

The cribs and safe sleep items will be distributed through REACH CNY’s programs and partnerships with community organizations serving families throughout the region.

REACH CNY works to support families and strengthen communities by providing resources, education, and essential items that promote the health and well-being of children.

REACH CNY is grateful to the Central New York Community Foundation for their continued investment in the health and safety of families in our community.
