Family Life Skills

Family Life Skills parenting classes use the Active Parenting curriculum.  These classes help parents and caregivers acquire tools and learn strategies for successful parenting and positive family development.

Family Life Skills classes are ideal for all parents, including those seeking to fulfill a requirement for court.  This program assists parents in reducing conflict, building better communication, developing closer relationships with their children, reducing stress, and supporting better adjustment through difficult transition periods. 

Topics covered include

  • Stress management
  •  Anger management
  • Setting boundaries
  • Assertive communication
  • Proactive discipline
  • Building self-esteem
  • Stages of child development & growth

Program Details

The Family Life Skills curriculum is approximately 9-hours long.  

  • Virtual, by Zoom: 
    Schedule:  Six 1.5-hour sessions delivered on both Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 AM – Noon for three weeks. 

Cost: $400. Many parents working with a court or referring agency can have this fee covered.

  • Tuesdays/Thursdays, March 10/12, 17/19, 24/26 from 10:30am-Noon 
  • Tuesdays/Thursdays, April 7/9, 14/16, 21/23 from 10:30am-Noon 
  • Tuesdays/Thursdays, May 5/7, 12/14, 19/21 from 10:30am-Noon
  • Tuesdays/Thursdays, June 2/4, 9/11, 16/18 from 10:30am-Noon
